Bvlgari celebrates India with new fragrance "Omnia Garnet"

Apr 14, 2014

BVLGARI will release a new fragrance from its popular Omnia collection, "Omnia Garnet Eau de Toilette" (25ml/6,100 yen, 40ml/8,100 yen, 65ml/10,500 yen), on April 30th.

Perfumer Alberto Morillas used the rare mandarin garnet as a motif to create a floral woody scent that combines Indian fragrances with the scent of Rome, the brand's roots. Head notes of Sicilian mandarin and saffron are followed by heart notes of osmanthus flowers and Indian tuberose, and the scent finishes with a base note of amber. The orange color of the bottle is considered a sacred color that symbolizes Krishna in Hinduism and light in Buddhism. The same scented "Garnet Body Oil" (100ml/5,500 yen) and "Garnet Soap (Deluxe)" (150g/3,300 yen) will also be released at the same time.

The advertising campaign features Lithuanian model Edita Vilkeviciute, who is seen getting ready for a night out, putting on each piece of jewelry one by one.

Since the 1970s, Bulgari has focused on motifs inspired by India, incorporating combinations of colored stones and yellow gold, cabochon (dome-shaped) cuts, paisley and lotus motifs, and more. Recently, the brand has rediscovered Indian and Oriental motifs, and last year launched a new high jewelry collection, "Bulgari Diva," which pays homage to India and its cultural traditions.
