On May 17th, the fashion show "Fashion Cantata from Kyoto" was held at Daikakuji Temple in Kyoto. The event began in 1992 with the aim of fostering Kyoto's traditional clothing culture through exchanges with Western fashion. This year, the 22nd edition of the event, featured guest models Anne, Sumire, and Yukimi Matsuo. The show showcased See By Chloe's 2014-15 Autumn/Winter collection alongside new pieces by four Kyoto kimono artists, using techniques such as hand-painted yuzen and batik. The three shows, held at 4:30 PM, 6:30 PM, and 8:30 PM, offered different experiences at different times of the day, from the bright sunlight to the fading evening and after sunset. See By Chloe's pieces, inspired by British women studying at art school in Paris, embodied a natural and refreshing style. The kimono works, created by the four artists using their respective skills, including hand-painted Yuzen and batik dyeing, feature bold designs and vivid color schemes that embody various themes of love, such as "platonic love" and "adult love," and were beautifully displayed against the backdrop of the fresh greenery of Daikakuji Temple.
