Alexander McQueen exhibition opens in London. Advance tickets go on sale one year in advance.

May 8, 2014

On April 24th, London's Victoria & Albert Museum (V&A) announced that "Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty," a retrospective of Alexander McQueen's work that first opened at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art in 2011, will open on March 14th of next year, and began selling advance tickets the following day, April 25th. While popular exhibitions, such as last year's David Bowie exhibition at the V&A, have required advance tickets, this seems an unusual move for a retrospective of the London-born genius designer. The exhibition will look back on McQueen's career and his magnificent, theatrical shows, from his 1992 graduation project from Central Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design to his 2010 Fall/Winter collection, which was left unfinished at his death.
