Isetan Shinjuku opened its Brazil-focused fair, "Abraços do Brasil: Embracing Brazil," on April 30th. A commemorative party was held on May 2nd on the second and third floors of the main building, featuring a series of events showcasing Brazilian music, food, and art. The venue was filled with excitement as a DJ set by music producer Jin Nakahara, who is also responsible for the in-store music at Isetan Shinjuku; a mellow acoustic guitar performance by guitarist Taro Sukegawa, who specializes in Brazilian music and improvisation; and a dynamic gafieira dance performance by Nori & Sachiko. On the third floor, a photo shoot was held by photographer Marcelo Gomes, whose work is exhibited and sold at Re-Style. A continuous line formed from the start of the party. Catering featured typical Brazilian foods. Guests were treated to dishes such as the locally popular Bolinho de Bacalhau (salted cod croquette), caramelized royal pork served with Brazilian cheese bread called Pão de Queijo, domestic beef churrasco-style with salsa, shrimp sauteed in coconut oil, and sweets like acai bowls and coconut-covered brigadeiros (Brazilian chocolate bonbons). The drinks were also full of Brazilian favorites. Guests enjoyed the food and drinks, including Kaiser's Palma Beer, a premium beer launched in São Paulo; sparkling wine and white wine from Casa Valduga, one of Brazil's earliest sparkling wines made using the champagne method; and the traditional Brazilian cocktail, Caipirinha Soda, characterized by its lime aroma and tartness.
