Fashion model Rinka was born on May 21, 1973, in Tokyo.

She was scouted after her street snaps were published in a fashion magazine, and made her modeling debut in 1993. After appearing in women's fashion magazines such as "JJ," she became an exclusive model for "CanCam." She modeled for "Sweet" from around 2000, but graduated with the April issue of this year.

She also worked as a talent on variety shows, but began to reduce her appearances around 2008 to focus on modeling. She has appeared on the cover of fashion magazines more than 250 times, the most in Japanese history. She married a non-celebrity man in January 2010 and gave birth to her first child in November 2011. Her fashion sense is highly acclaimed, and many brands and items have become popular after she introduced them on her blog, including UGG sheepskin boots and barefoot dreams loungewear. In 2005, she launched her own jewelry brand, Jupiter Gold Label, and in February 2012, she also launched the eyewear brand Piau Piau. She is also the director of MAISON DE REEFUR, a lifestyle shop that opened in Daikanyama in April 2012. Last month, she collaborated with Chloe to release a limited edition colorway of the iconic BAYLEE bag. On the 28th of this month, she released her latest book, "NO. 22," looking back on her 22 years as a model. The book focuses on the modeling and fashion aspects of her career, and includes a selection of over 10,000 shots taken from her modeling debut to the present, including shots taken in New York and Tokyo.
