The Gucci Off The Grid collection, launched in 2020, will see an expansion in its color lineup in 2021. Following the vibrant cobalt blue introduced earlier this year, ash gray has now been added.
Gucci Off The Grid is the first collection from Gucci Circular Lines, an initiative based on Gucci's vision of circular production. The collection includes duffel bags, backpacks, sneakers, small accessories, and apparel made from sustainable materials and materials, including recycled, organic, and bio-based materials. The main material is ECONYL® recycled nylon, which is made from waste materials such as fishing nets, carpets, and nylon offcuts from manufacturing processes, which would otherwise pollute the environment if discarded. Other recycled and environmentally friendly materials include recycled polyester made from PET bottles.
The new ash gray color combines recycled ECONYL® nylon woven with Gucci's iconic GG pattern with ivory trim.
Apparel also includes a vest, a lightly padded hooded jacket, a lightly padded short coat, jogging pants, and knee-length shorts made from the same material.
On the footwear front, the Gucci Tennis 1977 high-top and low-top sneakers for men and women are available in ash grey ECONYL® with a GG pattern woven into them, with both styles featuring ivory details.
New styles of bags and small accessories, including wallets, pouches and card cases, are also available in ash grey ECONYL® with a GG pattern woven into them, all with ivory trim and many featuring ivory leather tags with a gold GUCCI logo.
The Gucci Off The Grid collection helps everyone stay conscious of the environmental impact of their daily activities. Furthermore, Gucci's circularity represents reducing waste and returning it to the manufacturing process. The ash grey lineup is also made primarily from recycled nylon ECONYL(R), with other parts and details also made from recycled and environmentally friendly materials, and will be delivered in special packaging with a box made from recycled paper sourced from sustainably managed forests and a recycled nylon storage bag.
