"Future Liberation Zone Expo: Will Design and Technology Change Our Future?!" will be held at the Center Park/TOKYO Liberation Zone on the second floor of the Isetan Shinjuku Main Building from August 24th to September 13th. This project showcases technology that makes life more convenient and design that enriches it. Rather than simply expressing technology, this project will create an Expo-like space through the filter of fashion, promoting it as a way to inspire dreams for the future. As a new expression of fashion and digital, the exhibition will feature brands such as chloma, which proposes environments and clothing for modern people who walk seamlessly between the online and real worlds; Kyun-kun, which creates wearable robots with the theme of "wearing mecha"; hatra, a unisex clothing label founded by designer Keisuke Nagami that offers comfortable clothing perfect for modern life with a "room" theme; and BALMUNG, a fashion brand that expresses modern elements in a collage-like and graphical style.
Also, as a digital innovation that will make people's lives more convenient, WHILL, the next-generation wheelchair wheel developed by WHILL Inc., will be on display. This vehicle is a "personal mobility" with a completely new design that overturns the look of conventional wheelchairs. Both wheelchair users and non-wheelchair users can ride it around town. It will be on display at the main venue.
Another new expression using technology as a tool will be Olga's T-shirt, which plays music when the graphics are loaded on an iPhone. Also at the venue, Psychic VR Lab, a laboratory that researches and develops virtual reality technology, will be showcasing STYLY, a virtual shopping experience. This technology will 3D scan items, allowing users to see the texture and details of the fabric, making it feel like they are actually holding them in their hands.
