Fauchon releases three types of chocolate bread. A cocoa-scented Valentine's Day for adults.

Jan 29, 2013

Starting January 23rd, Paris-born food brand FAUCHON will be selling three limited-edition breads perfect for Valentine's Day.

The "Baguette au Chocolat" (252 yen) is made with a dough kneaded with cocoa and black cocoa, rolled in couverture chocolate. The fragrant, slightly bitter dough brings out the sweetness of the chocolate, which melts just right in your mouth. It pairs perfectly with apricots and oranges from the "Absolute Jam Series," which tastes like seasonal fruit fillings, and lightly salted butter.

The "Croque Chocolat" (231 yen) is a cocoa-flavored pain perdu (French toast) made with FAUCHON's popular pain de mi feuillete. It is baked with a chocolate cream sandwich containing sliced pears and hazelnuts. The "Pain au Pépit de Chocolat" (whole size 1,008 yen) is made with a dough kneaded with cocoa and black cocoa, and is filled with couverture chocolate, almonds that go well with the cocoa-flavored dough, and plenty of orange peel.
