Music producer Kenichi Maeyamada was born on July 4, 1980, in Osaka Prefecture. He is also active as a singer and TV personality under the name Hyadain.

He began playing the piano at the age of three and self-taught himself in songwriting, composing, and arranging. After graduating from Kyoto University, he began his musical career in earnest in 2007. He struggled for success, but after posting his works under the name "Hyadain" on video sites like YouTube and Nico Nico Douga, he gained popularity, garnering over one million views. His style of singing all male and female voices alone attracted attention as an artist whose identity, gender, and age are unknown.

In 2009, under the name "Kenichi Maeyamada," he wrote songs for Kumi Koda x misono and TVXQ, and their singles consecutively reached number one on the Oricon charts. In May 2010, he announced that Hyadain is Kenichi Maeyamada.

Since then, he has continued to write songs for idols such as Momoiro Clover Z, AKB48, and Shiritsu Ebisu Chugaku, as well as anime songs, and at the end of 2012, he released his first greatest hits album, "20112012," under the name Hyadain. Since his media exposure has increased, he has been active as an MC on music programs and appearing on variety shows.

He is also known as a fashionista, and always wore KENZO collections during the promotion of "20112012." He has also appeared at fashion events such as the Loewe x Junya Watanabe Comme des Garçons event and the Dover Street Market Ginza party. According to a Kenzo press release, his clothes are his own, not loaned by the brand.
