Colorful and voluminous fur [Winter 2013 Women's Trends - Vol. 6]

Jul 8, 2013

Fur, a staple of fall and winter, is also becoming more colorful. Long-haired furs like Mongolian fur and astrakhan are used, creating voluminous shapes. However, the vibrant colors create a fresh impression rather than a luxurious, madam-like look. Tom Ford, whose first runway show was held in London, featured a purple coat with a red rose pattern and a bright blue fur collar. It was a powerful piece with black and white graphic trimmings. At Loewe's show, a white and crimson fur coat served as the finale. At the show's debut show for its collaborative collection with Junya Watanabe Comme des Garçons in Tokyo in May, the designers proposed rock star-inspired, punk rock styling, pairing it with striped T-shirts and jeans. Lanvin's fur shawls were designed to be worn over the arms. While the show showcased a single-arm version, styled like a scarf, they could also be worn over both arms like a bolero. It seems to have been well received at the exhibition.
