Viktor & Rolf's Spring/Summer 2014 men's collection was inspired by uniforms and accented with the rebellious spirit of youth. Based on slim-fit suits, the collection featured pinstripe pants paired with leather rider jackets, blazers paired with shorts, and tuxedos paired with graphic tees. Argyle check shirts, college-striped blazers and ties, and graphics featuring antique books and calligraphy also evoked student images. Patent leather brogues, sneakers, and Dr. Martens-style boots rounded out the look. The color palette was dominated by midnight, gray, and white, with electric blue accents. The brand switched from show-style men's collections to an exhibition format this month, but this month marks its first haute couture collection in 13 years. The brand also announced the opening of its first flagship store on Paris' Rue Saint-Honoré this fall. The approximately 500 square meter, two-floor store will stock men's and women's ready-to-wear, bags, shoes, accessories, eyewear and perfumes.
