SKAGEN will release a solar-powered watch with a minimalist, modern design as part of its 2021 Summer Collection. This solar-powered watch was designed with inspiration from the Danish summer lifestyle.

In Denmark, a Nordic country with long winters, summer is the most active season of the year. Skagen, Denmark, the birthplace of SKAGEN, is a destination packed with people looking to relax and enjoy the short summer. Danish summers are marked by many sunny days and long daylight hours, often extending until around 10 PM, a symbol of gratitude and joy. The long, dark, cold winters make the summer sunshine a precious and much-anticipated season. Denmark is also a pioneering country in environmental conservation, providing over half of its domestic electricity consumption through solar and wind power and focusing on the development of renewable energy. Powered by natural energy rather than batteries, these solar watches are a sustainable part of SKAGEN's Danish collection. The women's designs feature a transparent mother-of-pearl dial, while the men's designs feature a minimalist, approximately 9mm case thickness, creating a modern look that is characteristic of SKAGEN.
