Kenzo releases new fragrance "Flower Air Eau de Parfum" in August. Original rose scent

Jul 25, 2013

KENZO will release its new fragrance, "Flower Air Eau de Parfum" (30ml/6,825 yen, 50ml/9,450 yen) on August 23rd. Like the globally popular, long-selling "Flower by Kenzo," the motif is a red poppy. The poppy, a flower without scent, is superimposed on the image of a dignified and powerful woman, creating a fictional poppy scent. The perfumer is Alberto Morillas, who also worked on "Flower by Kenzo." The fragrance begins fruity with top notes of raspberry and pink pepper, while the middle notes are floral notes of magnolia, gardenia, and an original "Dazzling Rose" fragrance blended with four types of red roses. The base note is white musk. The bottle is a transparent cylinder, with a poppy flower trapped in the cap.

Ahead of the launch, Kenzo Parfum held a unveiling event at Aoyama Spiral Garden on the 20th of last month. 10,000 silk poppies decorated the venue and were distributed to attendees. Kenzo Parfum's creative director, Patrick Guedj, has previously carried out surprise poppy events. Since 2001, the year after Flower by Kenzo was released, he has unannouncedly filled corners of cities around the world, including Milan, Vienna, London, and Buenos Aires, with bright red poppies. In 2009, 50,000 poppies appeared in Shibuya.
