Photographer Dennis Morris's "Dennis Morris Photo Exhibition" will be held on the 9th floor of Barneys New York's Shinjuku store from July 19th to 28th. Dennis has also been scheduled to visit Japan.
The exhibition will feature representative images of Dennis Morris's work, including photos of the Sex Pistols, Stone Roses, Oasis, Marianne Faithful, Radio Head, and Patti Smith.
In addition, on July 19th, the store will host a special DJ event featuring Dennis Morris himself, as well as Kensho Onuki, known for hosting the club event "LONDON NITE," and a secret guest. The event will run from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. In addition, Barneys will be selling exclusive T-shirts in collaboration with Japanese creative group XEROSEN, as well as Dennis' latest photo book, "Resurrection," at Barneys New York Shinjuku ahead of its general release in August. Dennis's photo, taken at age 11, appeared on the cover of the Daily Mirror. Later, reggae legend Bob Marley recognized his talent and accompanied him on tour. By the age of 17, he had already shot covers for numerous major music magazines, including Time Out and Melody Maker. After serving as the official photographer for the Sex Pistols, he helped launch Virgin Records' reggae label with Johnny Rotten (John Lydon). He also began working in the music industry, founding the punk band Basement Five.
