"Banksy" is a maverick in the art world who continues to express himself on the streets of today. However, few know the full extent of his creative endeavors or his motivations, and he remains shrouded in mystery. This summer, "Who is Banksy?" will be held, showcasing original works treasured by private collectors and focusing on the "street," his primary field of activity, to help people of all ages understand the significance of Banksy's work in a fun way. [Dates: Saturday, August 21, 2021 - Sunday, December 5, 2021, Venue: Warehouse Terrada G1 Building, with plans to travel to Nagoya, Osaka, Koriyama, Takaoka, and Fukuoka.] Actor Tomoya Nakamura has been appointed as the official ambassador for this exhibition, and a press conference was held on May 27th.

Midway through the press conference, a man wearing a white hooded coat appeared with backstreet-like background music playing. With a spray can in hand, he performed a performance imitating the spray art style that Banksy is known for, instantly transforming the atmosphere of the venue into that of a back alley at night. The exhibition logo was projected onto the screen, and as the man stepped to the center… ambassador Nakamura Tomoya appeared!

Nakamura Tomoya expressed his enthusiasm about being appointed as the ambassador for the "Who is Banksy? Exhibition," saying, "I want to be an ambassador who can properly convey the appeal of this exhibition." "I first learned about Banksy through the shredding incident at the auction, but the more I researched him, the more interested I became in his work, which is filled with brilliant artistic sense. As a fellow artist, I admire the way he communicates his message." Nakamura Tomoya, who also draws illustrations himself, recently drew portraits of Banksy and posted them all over the set, surprising the staff. He smiled and exclaimed, "It's Banksy!" Nakamura concluded the press conference by saying, "Banksy is an artist whose work is quite difficult to see in person, and I was surprised by the large size of his work (Flower Thrower) painted on a wall in Palestine. The moving experience of an exhibition comes with the experience, so I'm looking forward to this exhibition, which recreates the cityscape depicted in Banksy's work." The photo session following the press conference ended in a festive atmosphere, with a surprise splash of heart-shaped confetti.

Look forward to this exhibition, where ambassador Nakamura Tomoya will introduce the appeal of "Banksy," the world's most influential pioneer of the times.

Nakamura Tomoya is a lover of art himself, drawing illustrations and creating picture books, and for this exhibition he will also be trying his hand at audio guide work. You can listen to his cool-sounding guide at the venue!
