■ "EBOOK" by Nishiwaki Tadashi
Hyogo Prefecture-born illustrator Nishiwaki Tadashi rose to fame with his debut work, "Kansai Picture Dictionary."
This book contains 44 illustrations and words that he has been working on for his solo exhibitions over the five years since the publication of his first work. Some of the works were created specifically for this book. Also included are commentary on each piece by Nishiwaki himself, along with rough sketches he created before completing the work. Another highlight is the experimental printing technique, which uses five colors, including fluorescent ink, to achieve the vivid "Nishiwaki color." To celebrate the publication of this book, the "Nishiwaki Tadashi 'EBOOK' Publication Commemorative Fair" is being held until October 12th at the Architecture Design Floor on the first floor of Tsutaya Bookstore Building No. 2. On the floor, merchandise for sale includes books related to Nishiwaki Tadashi, postcards featuring illustrations from "EBOOK," character die-cut postcards (pre-sale at Tsutaya Bookstore), calendars, and more. A 3D object of his signature work, "Selling Half-Eaten Bread," is also on display. Additionally, on October 11th, the day before the final day of the fair, Nishiwaki Tadashi himself will be holding a signing session. Participants can access the event with a ticket received when they purchase the book at Daikanyama Tsutaya Bookstore. The event is limited to 40 people.
