Paper cutting artist Mikito Ozeki's solo exhibition "OVERLAP" will be held from October 7th to 13th at the art gallery on the 5th floor of the main building of Isetan Shinjuku.

Ozeki Mikito, a paper cutting artist who self-taught himself in 1997, has exhibited extensively both in Japan and abroad. Rather than creating traditional paper cutting works, he weaves abstract images from the act of cutting paper itself, creating new works through intricately cut and layered pieces of paper.

This exhibition, his first at Isetan Shinjuku, is themed around "OVERLAP," and features a number of works that further complicate the expression of "overlap x overlap" by overlapping imagery. The exhibition also incorporates concepts such as past and future, and accumulated techniques and new technologies.

In addition, videos documenting the creation process of his virtuoso works are available on video sharing sites such as YouTube. These videos have been viewed more than 700,000 times worldwide.
