Musashino Art University U-35 current students and graduates exhibit and sell "Current Art and Design" at Shinjuku Isetan

Aug 11, 2015

Isetan Shinjuku will host a collaborative exhibition with Musashino Art University, "U35: The Current State of Art and Design by Young Creators," in the store's main building's 7th floor event space from August 12th to 17th. The exhibition, held in conjunction with the "Isetan Art & Creation Festa 2015" held at Isetan Mitsukoshi, will feature the exhibit and sale of works by approximately 60 creators under the age of 35 recommended by Musashino Art University. The exhibitors are current students or alumni of the university. As each creator was recommended by a professor in their respective departments, the works strongly reflect the "Musabi" DNA. Each creator will utilize approximately two meters of wall space to display two-dimensional, three-dimensional, and video works. Events such as artist performances and live painting will also be held during the exhibition. During the exhibition, there will be a live painting performance by "uwabami," an art unit made up of graduates of the university, as well as a talk event with the exhibiting artists.
