Artist Kengo Nakamura exhibits at Shinjuku Isetan, featuring new works from his "Emoticon" painting series

Oct 8, 2015

Artist Kengo Nakamura's exhibition, "Kengo Nakamura and Kengo Nakamura," will be held from October 14th to 20th at the art gallery on the fifth floor of the main building of Isetan Shinjuku. Born in Osaka Prefecture, Kengo Nakamura creates unique paintings using motifs symbolizing modern society, such as apartment floor plans, manga speech bubbles, and character silhouettes. In 2015, he held a solo exhibition at Kakegawa City Ninomaru Museum of Art. This exhibition, "Kengo Nakamura and Kengo Nakamura," will feature new works from his "Kokorobunichi" (Heart-to-Body Unity) painting series, which uses emoticons as its motif, as well as works not yet shown in Tokyo. An artist guided tour will be held on October 17th and 18th (from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM each day).
