US select shop Need Supply opens first store in Japan in Shibuya

Oct 10, 2015

Need Supply Co., a select shop based in Virginia, USA, will open its first store in Japan on October 10th in Shibuya, Tokyo.
In 2012, the select shop published the culture magazine HUMAN BEING JOURNAL, with the theme of "Kitorru, one step ahead of the everyday," and last year published its Japanese edition, HUMAN BEING JOURNAL JAPAN EDITION 1. Now, the brand is finally beginning its full-scale expansion in Japan. The first store in Japan will open in Shibuya, Tokyo on October 10th. Furthermore, a second store is scheduled to open in Chuo Ward, Kumamoto on November 28th.
The shop director is Takayuki Minami, who has launched numerous stores including 1LDK. Alongside select brands from their home country, the store will also select new brands and products suited to the Japanese market, launching its original brand NSCO and launching an online store (http://www.needsupply.jp/) to coincide with the opening of the Shibuya store.

Also opening on the first floor of the same building as the Shibuya store will be the Italian restaurant "TRATTORIA Babbo", produced by chef Shoichiro Aiba, who has developed popular restaurants such as "LIFE" and "LIFE Sea".
