Paul Smith Watches celebrates its 20th anniversary with a limited edition "Five Eyes" pair watch

Oct 14, 2015

Paul Smith, celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, has launched a limited edition "Five Eyes" watch collection, along with a new model.

The "Five Eyes" limited editions feature one model each for men and women. Only 2,015 pieces of each will be released. The five "eyes" feature unique drawings inspired by the sequential photographs of 19th-century photographer Eadweard Muybridge. The men's model (46,000 yen) features a striking black base with red accents and a "Running Man" design, while the gold-based women's model (45,000 yen) features a green gradient and yellow accents and a "Jumping Woman" design. The case back is engraved with an etching depicting the phases of the moon and a serial number.

In addition, five new "Five Eyes" watches featuring the same striking gradient design will be released. The five "eyes" (windows), which change along with the second hand, which is the identity of the "Five Eyes," are designed to evoke the phases of the moon, and the five windows reveal beautiful gradations and contrasting colors used in only one area.

The men's color options are navy (37,000 yen), white (33,000 yen), and green (33,000 yen), and the women's options are burgundy (33,000 yen) and white (33,000 yen).

To commemorate the anniversary, a special Paul Smith Watch website (www.paulsmith-watch.jp) was launched on October 22nd. It introduces new collections, including the aforementioned "Five Eyes," as well as the brand's history. A commemorative exhibition is also being held at the Paul Smith Space Gallery from November 8th to August.
