To mark the grand opening of Isetan Shinjuku on March 6th next year, a Y's event is being planned in the East Park on the 4th floor. Photographer Kirishima Rowland will be holding a fashion shoot in honour of the Y's brand, which celebrates its 41st anniversary in 2013, dressing 41 people active in a wide range of genres in Y's clothing.

Ahead of the event, Kirishima has provided a comment:

"To commemorate the 41st anniversary of the founding of Wise, I was asked to take portraits of 41 women. I don't remember much about 41 years ago, but I think there were still very few working women in Japan at the time. Over the past 40 years, women have become more free and are able to take on a variety of different jobs. As an homage to these working women, I asked all of the subjects to "spread their wings." This jump was taken to resemble a jump over a puddle, but it also originated from the dynamic fashion photographs taken by Martin Munkacsi, the famous fashion photographer of the 1930s, using the 35mm camera that was then mainstream."
