
From October 28th to November 10th, Isetan Shinjuku Men's will be hosting "JAPAN Shoe Expo 2015," an event showcasing shoes from Japan's leading shoe designers, factory brands, and bespoke brands, at the men's shoe department on the first floor.
"JAPAN Shoe Expo 2015" is part of "JAPAN SENSES," a campaign held at Isetan Mitsukoshi. "JAPAN SENSES" is a campaign showcasing products and ideas that evoke fresh values in the modern world while utilizing Japanese manufacturing, materials, traditions, and techniques.
MIHARA YASUHIRO will be introducing shoes made using the Norvegese method, which is Yasuhiro Mihara's favorite, while HIROSHI TSUBOUCHI will be offering "Glam Trad" shoes that combine glam rock and trad. PERFETTO will present unique shoes made from three different materials, ENTOAN will present shoes entirely covered in a hard, fuzzy material, JOLI will feature lacquer work by a maki-e artist on the toes, heels and ankles, bibliotek will have a theme of Bauhaus and Russian Constructivism, Makoto Taguchi will present shoes in which the elements that make up the shoe have been extremely deformed, and will also offer reproductions of classic spats shoes by Yoshimi Teppei and Kosawami.
Otsuka Since 1872 will feature lacquered and gold-leafed shoes on the body, UNION IMPERIAL will feature shoes made from leather from an animal called KUDU, which is a member of the bovine family, that has been tanned with tannin for about a year, MADRAS will feature shoes handcrafted from Italian leather, and REGAL will be showcasing Masterpiece loafers and veggie-tanned leather that cannot be used for regular shoes.
