Alexander McQueen will be releasing a Japan-exclusive suitcase, created in collaboration with Globe-Trotter, a long-established travel case brand, in a special space at Isetan Shinjuku Men's Building on October 28th. The suitcase, created by Alexander McQueen and Globe-Trotter, both renowned for their respect for handcrafts and craftsmanship, is a collaboration in support of British Shopping Week, an event celebrating the best British high-end brands. Due to its unique characteristics, the suitcase can only be produced in limited quantities and is manufactured using Globe-Trotter's proprietary manufacturing process, known as one of the world's most exclusive suitcases. Made entirely from Vulcan Fiberboard, the suitcase is strong, durable, yet lightweight and functional. The entire suitcase is adorned with McQueen's signature silver studs and rivets. These iconic details are also reflected in the custom-made silver handles and black leather straps. The leather strap also features the skull padlock and bridge, a design unique to McQueen's bag collections.
The lining also features McQueen's iconic black and white skull print. A McQueen decorative plate is placed in the center of the case. The brand logo is also engraved on the black leather clochette containing two sets of keys for the padlock and on the leather strap loop.
The suitcase comes in two sizes: the "30" Extra Deep Suitcase (528,000 yen) and the "21" Trolley Case (385,000 yen). It will be available for pre-sale at Isetan Shinjuku Men's on October 28th, followed by general release on November 11th (excluding some stores).
