May 13, 2021

Modena – Maserati's innovation, design and passion have led it into the worlds of art and pop culture. Maserati is pleased to announce a new collaboration with Hiroshi Fujiwara, the world-renowned creator and street culture leader at Fragment Design.

Through his Fragment Design studio, Hiroshi Fujiwara has collaborated with artists from all over the world. This latest collaboration is more than just a creative collaboration; it is a fusion of two icons, born from the interplay between Fragment Design and Maserati. With this unique collaboration, Maserati is redefining convention, while Hiroshi Fujiwara has given a new artistic interpretation to the character of Maserati, translating it through the lens of street culture style.

Maserati CMO Paolo Tubito said of this collaboration, "As we embark on a new era for the brand, Maserati has once again demonstrated its unconventional character. With this model, we have broken our own rules and embodied an international, contemporary air. Maserati is inherently innovative, driven by passion and characterized by unique design. This is why we are open to receiving inspiration from worlds other than automotive, and our collaboration with Hiroshi Fujiwara demonstrates our clear transformation and true uniqueness."

Hiroshi Fujiwara added, "When I visited Modena, Italy, where Maserati is based, I was deeply drawn to the brand's heritage and particularly impressed by the evolution of Maserati's front grilles over the years. At the Design Center, I was fascinated by the various sketches, materials, style studies and attention to detail. I have been fascinated by cars for a long time, and this is my first collaboration with a car, and I am thrilled that Maserati is my partner." The creative journey between the Japanese creator and the Trident brand began with Hiroshi Fujiwara's visit to Modena, Maserati's hometown, and the Centro Stile Maserati Design Center, where all current and future Maserati models are designed. There, Hiroshi Fujiwara observed Maserati's evolution with his own eyes, discovering and being inspired by unique and iconic designs, meticulous attention to color and materials, artistic details that evoke stories, and cutting-edge engineering innovations. Interpreting the various elements that make up Maserati's history, Fragment x Maserati was born. Hiroshi Fujiwara's unique twist on the lineage of Maserati's illustrious sports car models creates a new vision for the two brands. The partnership between Maserati and Hiroshi Fujiwara will soon bring to life a limited edition based on the Maserati Ghibli Hybrid. The official unveiling of this limited edition will take place in Tokyo on June 24, 2021.
