A teaser poster has been released for the film "FOUJITA," which will be released nationwide on November 14th and depicts the life of Japanese painter Tsuguharu Foujita (Léonard Foujita), who was active mainly in France from the 1920s.

Tsuguharu Foujita traveled to France alone in 1913 and exhibited six works for the first time at the Salon d'Automne art exhibition in 1919, all of which were selected. He exhibited works such as "My Room, Still Life with an Alarm Clock" and "Five Nudes," which were highly acclaimed. After returning to wartime Japan in 1940, he produced numerous wartime paintings, including "Suicide Attack on Attu Island" and "Fulfilling Duty as Fellow Patriots on Saipan Island." The film depicts the life of Tsuguharu Foujita, who, in 1920, painted a nude with "milky skin" and became a favorite among artists active mainly in Montparnasse, Paris. He returned to Japan at the start of the war and produced numerous "war support paintings," rising to become a leading figure in the Japanese art world. Joe Odagiri plays the lead role of Tsuguharu Foujita, who reportedly underwent intensive training to face the challenge of filming, with half of the dialogue being in French. Other cast members include Miki Nakatani as his fifth and beloved wife, Kimiyo, Ryo Kase, and Ittoku Kishibe. The teaser poster, along with the tagline "A Japanese Loved by Paris," features a photo of Tsuguharu Foujita, played by Joe Odagiri, at a canvas in his studio, between "Nude with Jouy Cloth," which is said to have inspired his career as a painter, and "The Suicide Attack on Attu Island," a representative "war support painting." The video expresses the dual nature and complexity of Foujita Tsuguharu, who lived in two countries and eras: France and Japan.

Also shown are photos of him with Kimiyo, played by Nakatani Miki, and a party scene with Kiki, a model who was hailed as the Queen of Montparnasse.
