Nail artist JUNKO offers easy and stylish DIY nail art ideas for summer. Today, she introduces refreshing tricolor nail art perfect for summer. "I incorporated a marine-inspired tricolor into my nails. While marine tends to mean borders or regular polka dots, I went for a slightly more unique finish with this art. The random dots, like those you might find on a dress, create a fresh look. It's a mature look without being too casual," says JUNKO. All of the nail polishes used this time are from NARS. "Even though it's all called blue, it has a wide range of colors and sophisticated hues that will tickle your creative spirit. I'm sure there's a color that really catches my eye," says JUNKO. As she says, the brand boasts a wide color lineup and a reputation for its vibrant colors. The brush is an extra-thick flat brush that provides stability and a rounded tip for easy application. The trick to skillfully creating random dots that capture the rough nuances of hand painting is to adjust the size of the circles so that they are larger at the tip of the nail and smaller at the base. It's also a good idea to avoid overlapping the same colors, especially navy 3661. Mixing the tricolor of white, red, and blue with gold dots creates a glamorous look. ■ Products Used NARS Nail Polish R, 3641 (white), 3661 (limited edition color at Isetan Shinjuku and Hankyu Umeda Main Stores), 3645 (gold), 3651 (red) ¥2,000 each ■ How to (1) To create a feminine look, shape your hands into a slightly longer, rounded shape. (2) First, apply two coats of 3641 to your entire hands.
(3) The three colors used for the dots are 3661, 3645, and 3561. The round tip of the brush makes it easy to draw circles. Load the brush with enough polish so that it doesn't drip, hold the brush so that the tip is perpendicular to the nail, and lightly tap it on the nail. Wait for the surface to dry before layering the next color.
(4) For the feet, paint the thumb, middle finger, and little finger with 3661, the index finger with 3651, and the ring finger with 3641. Finish the ring finger with scattered dots, just like the hand.
