Summer is the season for lighter outfits, so nails can be enjoyed as part of your look. Nail artist JUNKO offers easy yet stylish do-it-yourself nail designs. Using RMK nail colors, she creates soft, feminine polka dots. "The theme is casual x modern. I imagined a soft, cute woman. The feet are accented with bright yellow for a summery feel. RMK's colors are appealing because they have a translucent feel yet are playful," says JUNKO, explaining the concept of today's nails. The hands are based on P-31 (pure white), creating a cool look. The dots are created using CL-11 (white beige) and CL-15 (clear gray blue). The blurred effect, like paint dropped into water, creates an artistic impression. RMK nail colors are perfect for controlling the delicate nuances of this art.

Nail Color EX CL-11, CL-15, CL-02, P-31 1,500 yen each
■How to
(1) Shape the hands into short, round shapes for a soft look, then apply two coats of P-31.
(2) Prepare a separate brush dipped in nail polish remover. For the dots, use CL-11 and CL-15. Lightly squeeze the brush against the edge of the bottle until the liquid stops dripping, then adjust the amount of polish on the brush.
(3) Hold the brush perpendicular to the nail, as if you are dropping the tip of the brush. If the color is too strong, you can create a faded look by touching the color with the brush dipped in nail polish remover prepared in (2).
(4) Apply three coats of color firmly to the feet.
