From July 17th to August 29th, the live music restaurant Cotton Club will be hosting "YUKATA de JAZZ," an event where you can enjoy jazz in yukata or Japanese clothing.
These days, yukatas are rarely worn except at fireworks festivals and festivals. This event was organized to allow people to enjoy jazz and food in yukata at Western-style establishments, where people might feel a little shy about visiting in a yukata.
During the event, if you attend a designated performance wearing a yukata or Japanese clothing, you will receive a complimentary glass of "Rin," a refreshing cocktail made with rice vodka and Japanese ingredients such as kumquat liqueur, plum juice, and sudachi juice.
Live performers include saxophonist Eric Darius, jazz guitarist Pat Martino Trio, singer Akira Fuse, and singer-songwriter Takao Horiuchi.
In addition to the restaurant, "YUKATA de JAZZ" will also be held at "Blue Note Tokyo" from July 22nd to August 27th, and "Motion Blue Yokohama" from July 18th to August 30th. At "Blue Note Tokyo," visitors dressed in yukata or traditional Japanese clothing will be given a summery cocktail made with a refreshing, dry sake base, combined with cassis and watermelon, while at "Motion Blue Yokohama," they will be given a salty dog made with fresh watermelon.
