Yokohama Takashimaya will host Endo Koshu's photography exhibition, "Beauty in the Sky, Beauty on Earth: 'Beauty' Reveals Itself Through Contemplation," from July 29th to August 10th. The exhibition features approximately 130 photographs of beauty, ranging from the stars to everyday objects. In addition to large-format acrylic works (1.8m high/2.7m wide) and large-format prints (1.5m high/2.2m wide), the exhibition also features a 3D composition using techniques such as folding screens, hanging scrolls, and video. Also on display will be Endo's signature "Yuragi" series, which depicts the surface of water rippling in the wind. To coincide with the exhibition, Endo shot a new "Yuragi" series at Yokohama Minato Mirai. This work, capturing the illuminated Ferris wheel unique to Yokohama, will be on display exclusively at Yokohama Takashimaya.
The exhibition has been touring Nihonbashi Takashimaya, Kyoto Takashimaya, and Osaka Takashimaya since March 2015, and will reach its final stop at Yokohama Takashimaya. A gallery talk by Endo will be held at 11am and 2pm on the first day, the 29th.
