Celebrity-favorite denim brand Mother signs exclusive distribution agreement with SAZABY LEAGUE in Japan

Jul 31, 2015

MOTHER, a Los Angeles-based denim brand beloved by celebrities, has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with SAZABY LEAGUE, the operator of brands such as Ron Herman, for Japan.

MOTHER was launched in 2010 by Lela Becker, who has extensive sales experience in the denim industry, and Tim Kaeding, the designer who brought denim back into vogue with GAP's 1969 Jeans in the late 1990s. Combining the expertise and design aesthetic of the two, the brand has grown into a cult brand supported by denim enthusiasts around the world within less than a month of its debut. The lineup of items includes denim (from 28,000 to 35,000 yen), denim shirts (from 30,000 yen), T-shirts (from 12,000 yen), denim jackets (from 35,000 yen), and denim skirts (from 28,000 to 35,000 yen).

These items have previously been sold at select shops such as ESTNATION and AMERICAN RAG CIE, as well as major department stores, but it appears that the brand will be further promoted by centralizing sales and PR within Japan.
