To celebrate the Marimekko exhibition, the film "Queen of Fabrics" will be screened for a limited time at Bunkamura Le Cinema

Dec 2, 2016

Bunkamura Le Cinema in Shibuya, Tokyo, will be screening the film "Queen of Fabrics" for a limited time from December 17th to December 22nd.

This limited-time screening is being held to commemorate the "Marimekko Exhibition: Design, Fabric, Lifestyle," which will be held at Bunkamura The Museum from December 17th to February 12th, 2017. "Queen of Fabrics" is a much-anticipated film directed by Joer Donner, an early Marimekko executive and living witness to the company's founder, Armi Ratia. Screenings will begin at 7:25 PM every day during the exhibition.

The "Marimekko Exhibition: Design, Fabric, Lifestyle" will display a total of 200 items from the collection of the Design Museum in Helsinki, Finland, where Marimekko was founded, including approximately 50 fabrics, approximately 60 vintage dresses, the designer's handwritten sketches, and documents from various periods. This is the first large-scale exhibition in Japan to trace the brand's 60-year history and allow visitors to learn about the work and achievements of its unique designers. In addition, by presenting your exhibition ticket or ticket stub, you can watch the film, which normally costs 1,200 yen, for just 1,000 yen.
