Gucci opens new flagship store in Roppongi Hills! Launches with the 2017 Cruise Collection

Dec 3, 2016

Gucci opened its new flagship store on December 2nd on the second floor of Roppongi Hills' West Walk (6-10-3 Roppongi, Minato-ku, Tokyo). The new store features Gucci's new brand retail environment, which was first unveiled at the brand's flagship store on Via Montenapoleone in Milan. The 220-square-meter store offers both men's and women's items, including women's wear, shoes, handbags, luggage, and jewelry. The interior blends traditional and modern, industrial and romantic elements, echoing the elegant and contemporary eclecticism characteristic of Creative Director Alessandro Michele's new collection. Furthermore, the understated interior design creates a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. Unexpected combinations of materials also create understated drama. The store also features contrasting materials throughout, such as inlays made from a combination of different colored marbles to create a decorative three-dimensional effect on the floor, and the contrast between technical, mechanical display units and the softness of rich fabrics. Luxurious chairs are placed throughout the store, and vintage oriental rugs are layered on top of each other.

In addition, the store will also be carrying items from the 2017 Cruise Collection, and to commemorate the opening of Gucci Roppongi, a snake-motif handbag (220,000 yen) and pouch (135,000 yen) will be available.
