Warm up with tea, bread, and baked goods at a Christmas event at Yoyogi Village

Dec 14, 2016

Yoyogi VILLAGE by kurkku will be hosting the "GOOD SUNDAY MARKET ~Tea & Bake~" on December 18th.

The "Good Sunday Market" is an event aimed at people who live in the city but seek a lifestyle that values nature. This time, the theme is "Tea & Bake," and it will introduce tea shops and stores that sell bread and baked goods that go well with tea.

The lineup of participating stores includes NAKAMURA TEA LIFE STORE, a Japanese tea retailer in Taito Ward, Tokyo; KONOHA, a small flower shop in Kawagoe; DAUGHTER BOUTIQUE, which offers sweets made only with healthy, plant-based ingredients; SWAN & LION, which cherishes traditional British food culture and offers menus that incorporate the appeal of global cuisine; and Sète ne Bonnidée, which is modeled after a cute bakery you might find on a French street corner. Other shops that will be featured include L'atelier du The KUKAI, where the owner, born and raised in a tea wholesaler in Kawane, Shizuoka's tea-producing region, will introduce teas from Kawane as well as black and oolong teas from around the world; La Vie Exquise, which offers a wide variety of breads, from hard breads to sliced breads, savory breads, and snack breads; and CONTENART, which offers caffeine-free fruit teas blended with various dried fruits and herbs. There will also be a number of workshops perfect for Christmas. From 11:00 to 1:00 PM, there will be an event where you can draw and eat "stollen," a sweet bread eaten in Germany during the Christmas Advent period (6,500 yen). From 1:30 PM and 2:30 PM, there will be a one-hour "stollen" tasting event (3,000 yen) from popular shops. In addition, there will be a Christmas greenery wreath-making workshop (5,400 yen + one drink 550 yen) for 90 minutes each from 10:00 and 14:30, and an event (2,000 yen) where you can enjoy a spicy mid-winter blend made with Japanese black tea made from native species of Kawane, Shizuoka Prefecture from 13:00 to 14:00. There will also be a skincare class (2,000 yen) where you can learn the secrets to beautiful skin for 90 minutes each from 13:30 and 15:30.
