A single hand indicates the time on a scale of 144. A new timepiece from the German watch brand Meistersinger has been released.

Apr 13, 2021
Montrex Co., Ltd. will begin selling BellHora, a new series from German watch brand MeisterSinger, from late April 2021.

BellHora
- Sonnerie au Passe - An often-forgotten complication -

Hora is Latin for time.
The Bell Hora tells you the time by sound.

Every hour on the hour, a gentle chime rings, triggered by a thin, spiraling mechanical strike. This perfectly aligns with Meistersinger's ideal that a watch should allow you to intuitively understand the time.

This ingenious mechanism is a rare model featuring a Sellita (SW200) movement with a chiming module. Unlike an alarm function, it chimes at the top of the hour (e.g., 1, 2, 3, etc.).
(⇒It chimes at the top of the hour.)

The dial design, with the numbers 01 to 24 arranged in a spiral pattern, emphasizes from the outside that the Bell Hora has it all.

About Meistersinger
IT IS NOT THE MINUTES AND SECONDS THAT ARE PRECIOUS - IT IS TIME!
"It is not the minutes and seconds that are precious - it is time itself that is precious!"

Meistersinger is one of the master titles awarded by German craft guilds from the Middle Ages to the early modern period. Meister means "master" and Singer means "singer", which in Japanese would mean "master poet" or "master singer". The Meistersinger is thought to have originated when Minnesingers (troubadours) who traveled around the German courts settled in cities following the decline of medieval aristocracy.

During the 15th and 16th centuries, a culture flourished in Nuremberg and other southern German cities, where master craftsmen, artisans, and apprentices gathered in guilds to hone their poetry and singing skills. Those who won these competitions were given the title "Meistersinger."

The mark above Meistersinger is a fermata (an Italian musical term meaning a pause in the rhythm of a piece of music). It represents the brand's relaxed approach to time, and Meistersinger watches inspire the wearer to relax and unwind.

[Single-Hand Watch]
The design of Meistersinger watches follows all the rules of simplicity, inheriting a unique design DNA. At Meistersinger, functionality and design are carefully considered.

This clock shows the time as 10:15.

The hour dial is divided into 144 markings. Each marking is incremented by 5 minutes, and the combination of 15, 30, and 45 minute markings and hands makes the time easy to read.
