Turner Prize-winning 15-person architect group Assemble's exhibition opens in Omotesando

Dec 1, 2016

An exhibition introducing the Turner Prize-winning architectural collective Assemble, titled "Assemble: Fantasies and Futures of Community," will be held at EYE OF GYRE in Omotesando, Tokyo, from December 9th to February 12th, 2017.

Assemble is an architectural collective formed in 2010 by 15 members. They are engaged in current social activities rooted in civic public interest, transcending the genres of art, design, and architecture. Their project with local residents of Granby Four Streets, Toxteth, Liverpool, won them the 31st Turner Prize, an award for UK-based artists under the age of 50. This exhibition will introduce Assemble's work and raise the question of the very "raison d'être of art" in contemporary society.
