"KITAN - A Tale of Tableware and Food" will be held at HIGASHI-YAMA Tokyo in Meguro, Tokyo on January 17, 2017, where you can enjoy ceramic works by currently active ceramic artists and creative cuisine by up-and-coming chefs all at the same table.

The event is organized by the Japan Ceramic Art Association, which was founded in 2012 by ceramic artists from all over Japan. The Japan Ceramic Art Association was established with the aim of expanding the world of new creativity while respecting and preserving tradition. Today, the association has over 100 members, ranging from Living National Treasures to emerging artists.

This event will feature ceramic works by artists from the Japan Ceramic Art Association combined with creative cuisine by up-and-coming chefs. A "Lunch Party" (5,000 yen) will be held from 11:00 to 1:00 PM, and a "Saryo Kai" (3,000 yen) will be held from 2:00 to 3:30 PM. Both events are limited to 12 people. In addition, a reception party is scheduled to be held from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

In addition, the Japan Ceramic Art Association will hold its first members' exhibition, "Toubiten," at the art gallery on the 6th floor of Nihonbashi Takashimaya from January 18th to 24th, 2017. A gallery talk by Inoue Manji, a holder of an Important Intangible Cultural Property (Living National Treasure), is also scheduled to begin at 3:00 pm on January 18th.
