To celebrate the completion of the live-action version of Disney's new film "The Jungle Book," which will be released worldwide in April (August in Japan), KENZO will release a limited-edition collection inspired by the film's characters on April 20th.
Creative directors Carol Lim and Humberto Leon created the collection using original drawings from the animated film on which the live-action version is based. The collection incorporates various elements evoking the jungle and safari.
The duo based their imaginary sketches on prints featuring Mowgli, his partner Bagheera, the orangutan King Louie, the elephant Hati, the bear Baloo, and the wolf Akela. These designs are featured on women's silk-cotton summer shirts, dresses, jackets, and tops, as well as men's light jackets, pants, shorts, and Hawaiian shirts. In Japan, sales will begin on April 20th at the limited-time shop "KENZO BOXSHOP" opening inside Omotesando GYRE (5-10-1 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo). (*Ends once sold out) The collection will also be available at the Re-Style Promotion Space on the 3rd floor of the main building of Isetan Shinjuku from April 20th to 26th, and at Promotion Space 31 on the 3rd floor of Hankyu Umeda Main Store from May 11th to 17th.
