The Mitsukoshi Italy Exhibition, showcasing Italian cuisine, will be held at the Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store's Main Building and New Building 7th floor event hall from April 13th. The exhibition will showcase cuisine from Sicily, Italy, where cuisine is abundantly cultivated thanks to the sun and the bounty of the Mediterranean Sea. The eat-in corner will feature Patrizia Di Beneditto, owner and chef of Bye Bye Blues, a Michelin-starred restaurant located on the outskirts of Palermo, Sicily. Di Beneditto will team up with Takahiro Higuchi, chef of SALONE 2007, a renowned Yokohama restaurant who trained at Bye Bye Blues, to offer dishes focused on seafood. Guests can enjoy delicious Sicilian cuisine made with the bounty of the sea and the sun, including dishes like "Red Shrimp Pasta," "Swordfish Involtino," and "Sardine and Potato Timballo." Gabriele Ponci, owner of Pizzarium, which was awarded the top pizza taglio (pizza shop by the slice) in the Italian gourmet ranking book "Gambero Rosso Italian Pizza Guide 2014," will also be in attendance to demonstrate and sell freshly baked pizzas with Keigo Shimaoka of Pizza Artaio, who once studied under Ponci. Roman-style slice pizzas include "Colorful Cherry Tomatoes, Parma Ham, and Ricotta Cheese Pizza" (650 yen per slice) and "Roman Broccoli, Guanciale, and Kyushu Bamboo Shoot Pizza" (650 yen per slice). Other items that allow you to fully experience the charm of Italy will also be on sale. Ceramiché di Sicilia, a representative of Sicilian pottery, will be selling pottery with vibrant and fun patterns and designs that evoke the Sicilian sun. Items on display include "Tiles" (5,000 yen), "Piccolo Garlic Pot" (7,000 yen), and "Sugar, Cheese Powder, and Salt Shakers" (6,000 yen).
The exhibition will run until April 21st on the 7th floor of the main building, and until April 18th on the 7th floor of the annex.
