Isetan Salone presents a jewelry workshop for mothers and daughters on Mother's Day!

Apr 23, 2016

Jewelry brand Korat Works will be hosting workshops at its pop-up shop, located inside Isetan Salone on the first floor of Tokyo Midtown Galleria, from May 4th to 8th. Korat Works, led by designer Aya Hasegawa, specializes in hand-carving jewelry, crafting designs into pearls and metal in a way that resembles a sketch or painting. The Mother's Day workshop, held on May 4th and 5th, will feature mother-daughter collaborations, allowing participants to carve dots into freshwater pearls and pour lacquer over them to create a pair of earrings or two pin brooches. Participation is ¥10,800, with a limit of eight participants per session. The workshop lasts one hour and a half, and will be held in two sessions, starting at 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM each day. Items created on the day will be delivered approximately one week after finishing.

In addition, the limited-time shop will be selling earrings, earrings and necklaces made from freshwater pearls that have been intricately carved in Western style and decorated with gold leaf, as well as petal earrings in four colors. Other items on display will include jewelry made with Akoya pearls from Uwajima and Joboji lacquer, as well as a white mother-of-pearl series.

Reservations for the workshop will be accepted from April 20th at Isetan Salone.
