From May 1st to June 30th, Jean-Paul Hevin will be offering the "Chocolat Aperitif Collection" for a limited time, proposing a new way to enjoy an aperitif (before a meal) that only a chocolatier can offer.
The collection features four types of chocolate perfect for aperitifs, each made with fromage (cheese), a popular accompaniment to an aperitif, and Jean-Paul Hevin's signature accents. One of the chocolates on sale this time is "Epoisse," made with Epoisse cheese produced in the village of Epoisse in Burgundy, a representative washed-wheat cheese. Combined with cumin, which is known for its exotic aroma, the rich milk flavor of Epoisse is enhanced.
"Pont L'Evêque" is a blend of Pont L'Evêque, the oldest washed cheese from the Normandy region, famous for its rich, mellow milk flavor, and the herb thyme. "Roquefort" is a sheep's milk cheese aged with blue mold grown in caves underground in the village of Roquefort-sur-Soulzon in southern France, and walnuts are added to create a chocolate with a mellow flavor and delicate aroma. "Chèvre" is a goat's milk chèvre cheese characterized by its unique fragrance, mild acidity, and rich flavor, combined with hazelnuts and Sichuan peppercorns to create a refreshing flavor and aroma. This time, two of each of these four types of chocolate will be sold as "Boîte Chocolat Aperitif" (8 pieces for 3,010 yen). Additionally, the eat-in space, Bar à Chocolat, is offering a set menu called "Menu Chocolat Aperitif" (1,400 yen with champagne, 1,350 yen with non-alcoholic drink) that allows you to choose two of the chocolates on sale this time with your favorite drink. There are three types of drinks available: "Remi Leroy," a champagne that pairs perfectly with the fromage chocolate; "Te Cocktail," a non-alcoholic cocktail that combines the berry-flavored tea "Soirée de Gala" with Alain Millia's "Sauvignon Blanc white grape juice"; and "Chocolat Glacée," made with cocoa from Ghana.
