Mr. Cheesecake celebrates its third anniversary this April. To commemorate this milestone, the brand has announced its first-ever matcha-flavored cheesecake, "Mr. Cheesecake Oribe."

This cheesecake is made with a specially blended matcha base, combining banana, vanilla, Japanese pepper, and the spice cloves. To allow customers to enjoy the umami and aroma of high-quality matcha, the acidity previously added with lemon, lime, or sour cream has been reduced, and instead, rich mascarpone is used to highlight the umami of the matcha.


In addition, the citrus aroma of sansho pepper pairs well with the herbal aroma of matcha, while cloves bring out the spiciness and slight smokiness of matcha. The combination of these scents creates a more three-dimensional aroma and a taste that lingers. The bitterness is kept to a pleasant level, allowing you to enjoy the umami and aroma.
