On the 6th, Italian brand MaxMara will reopen its Ginza 3-Chome store (1st and 2nd floors of the Zoe Ginza Building, 3-3-1 Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo), marking its 10th anniversary since opening. With a floor area of 450 square meters, it is the largest store in Japan. Opening hours are 11:30 AM to 8 PM.
The store was designed by Duccio Grassi Architects, who also designed the Milan flagship store's renovation in 2012. The glass front has been replaced, and a white metal latticework has been added to the exterior. Light spills onto the street like a paper lantern.
The store is divided into sections by line. The first floor houses MaxMara and 'S MaxMara, while the second floor houses Sportmax and the dress line "Elegante." The Elegante section can be partitioned off and used as a VIP room. An ostrich leather version of the iconic "J Bag" (JBag) will be available as a shop-exclusive item (priced at 678,300 yen).
The entire space is also faintly scented. "We mixed the floral scent of linen into the air conditioning to create a cozy atmosphere. We also used furniture that will make you feel even more relaxed. We want our customers to feel as relaxed as if they were staying in a five-star hotel," said a PR representative for the brand.
