Shiseido will open its new headquarters, the Shiseido Ginza Building, in Tokyo's Ginza district on October 2nd. This building replaces the previous headquarters building, which was completed in 1966. The building has 10 floors above ground and two below, with a total floor area of approximately 9,957 square meters. It primarily houses offices, but also includes a multipurpose hall, a restaurant, and commercial space for external tenants.

The building's key design incorporates Shiseido's signature "camellia" and "arabesque" patterns. Each aluminum shade covering the entire building is constructed with an original "future arabesque" design, creating a modern impression. As befits a building in Ginza, where greenery is a popular activity, the new building not only features a green roof, but also uses environmentally friendly materials and equipment. It is said to reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 30% compared to the previous building.

Shiseido has positioned this building as a "value creation base" that brings together departments with creative functions, and the floor layout will be in line with this concept. The company's workplace will occupy the five floors from the sixth to the tenth. The fifth floor will house the company's beauty facility, Shiseido Life Quality Beauty Center (reopening on October 22nd), the third floor will house the multi-purpose hall, Shiseido Hanatsubaki Hall, the first and second floors will house Loro Piana, a clothing and accessories shop (scheduled to open this fall), and the entrance and basement will house L'Osier, a French restaurant operated by the company (reopening on October 25th).

With the opening of this building, Shiseido will consolidate its office functions, which are currently scattered throughout Tokyo, into three headquarters locations (Shiseido Ginza Building, Shiodome Office, and Shiodome FS Building). The Shiseido Ginza Building will house the Advertising Production Department, Corporate Culture Department, and subsidiary Shiseido Parlour, starting in early October. Two subsidiaries will then be consolidated into the Shiodome Office, and next autumn several departments, including the Shiseido Beauty Creation Research Center currently located in the Shiseido Gotanda Building, will be moved to the Shiodome FS Building. This office reorganization is scheduled to be completed by autumn 2014.
