Enlightenment, the creative unit formed by Hiro Sugiyama and Masanori Matsui, will hold an exhibition titled "ELM15" to celebrate their 15th anniversary. The exhibition will run from September 13th to 30th at EYE OF GYRE, an art space within GYRE in Omotesando, Tokyo. Admission is free.
The exhibition can be considered a digest of Enlightenment's 15 years. It features over 50 pieces carefully selected by Sugiyama himself from the more than 1,400 works produced since the unit's formation. The spatial composition was handled by Junji Tanigawa, a spatial designer at the design firm JTQ, who has worked on exhibitions for Marc Jacobs and Yohji Yamamoto.
Since their formation in 1997, Enlightenment has produced numerous creations, including graphic design, music videos, and artwork. In addition to presenting at exhibitions both in Japan and abroad, he is active in a wide range of fields, including publishing free papers and art books and curating exhibitions.

He has been active as a VJ since 1994, and in recent years has participated as a VJ in tours by m-flo and Shinichi Osawa. He has also continued to participate in festivals such as Sonar Festival, Electraglide, and Summer Sonic. He has also created portraits of Radiohead, Junichiro Koizumi, Brad Pitt, Ichiro Suzuki, Tadanobu Asano, and Antonio Inoki.
