New York brand Vince. flagship store to open in Omotesando in October

Sep 18, 2013

Toray Diplomode will open the first flagship store in Japan for New York lifestyle casual brand Vince. in mid-October in Omotesando, Tokyo (4-11-11 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku). This will be the brand's first flagship store outside the United States.

Since its founding in 2002, Vince. has gained a reputation among celebrities for its "simple, high-quality casual wear" and has expanded its stores primarily in the United States. Toray Diplomode introduced the brand in Japan in 2010 and currently distributes it primarily in department stores, including Isetan Shinjuku, Mitsukoshi Ginza, Mitsukoshi Nihombashi Main Store, and Hankyu Umeda Main Store. Now in its third year, sales have grown to 1.4 billion yen (based on retail price). With this flagship store opening, the brand will further accelerate its expansion into department store-in-shop locations, with plans to open 20 stores in major cities across Japan, including Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya, within the next two years.

In the United States, the brand is accelerating its store openings, opening its 21st flagship store in Manhattan's SoHo district in August and planning to open another on Columbus Avenue, also in Manhattan, later this year.

As with the US flagship store, the interior design of the Omotesando store was overseen by the Vince. store design team, and the space expresses the brand concept of "modern, clean, contemporary, everyday luxury." The 145 square meter store will offer women's clothing and, for the first time in Japan, a selection of women's shoes.
