The limited-time event "PARK ART SHOW" will run from October 1st to October 8th in the newly opened promotion area on the third floor of Isetan Shinjuku on September 18th.
The event will showcase the works of cutting-edge Japanese artists under the theme of "Life with Art." The event will be directed by Shigeo Goto, who created the concept for the advertising campaign for the store's remodeled grand opening in March of this year. The curation will be handled by the contemporary art Tomio Koyama Gallery and G/P Gallery, where Goto also serves as director.
The exhibiting artists include ceramic artists Ryota Aoki, Takuro Kuwata, and Akishi Niizato, as well as Hironobu Okada, Toru Matsushita, Taisuke Koyama, Yoriko Takabatake, and Yuko Amano. Eight artists in their 20s and early 30s have been selected for the exhibition. The works will be exhibited and sold, and will also be available on Isetan's e-commerce site, "I ONLINE."
The space will continue to present original projects. Starting on October 9th, there will be an event featuring Miriam Haskell, which showcases fashion jewelry as a work of art. Starting on the 23rd, there will be the first ever launch event in Japan for MARTONE CYCLING, a bicycle brand created by the famous American socialite Lorenzo Martone.
