The Art of Chocolate: Palace Hotel Tokyo's Edible Ties and Fountain Pens for Valentine's Day

Nov 7, 2015

Sweets & Deli, the pastry shop at the Palace Hotel Tokyo, will be selling five Valentine's Day exclusive sweets from February 1st to 14th. "Cravate" (3,024 yen including tax), limited to 300 pieces, is a fashionable chocolate that looks just like a real tie. The rich dark chocolate is decorated with six different designs, including a Valentine's Day pattern with red and pink hearts, a musical instrument pattern featuring instruments like violins and horns, an all-over cocoa bean pattern, an arabesque pattern, and a border pattern. "Stylo" (1,296 yen including tax), a fountain pen-shaped chocolate, also limited to 300 pieces, is crafted with meticulous attention to detail, from the cap and clip to the packaging. The body is made of dark chocolate colored red and coated with cocoa butter. The pen barrel, with its lustrous and luxurious texture, is engraved with the hotel's logo. "Cool," limited to 120 sets (4 pieces for 2,592 yen including tax, 648 yen each including tax), features heart-shaped tablet chocolates arranged like a clover, sprinkled with nuts and dried fruit on top of white, milk, and bitter chocolate. Enjoy the harmony of rich chocolate flavor, fragrant nuts, and sweet and sour dried fruit. Other items on offer include "Spereur," limited to 80 sets (8 pieces for 4,320 yen including tax), filled with eight types of chocolate carefully selected by the hotel's chocolatier; and "Champagne & Chocolat," limited to 50 sets (7,560 yen including tax), which combines a half bottle of Laurent-Perrier with four types of bonbon chocolates, including a bright red heart-shaped chocolate.
