Swedish watch brand Daniel Wellington has announced its first collaboration with three select shops: Barneys New York, United Arrows, and Beams. The limited-edition items will be released on November 13th. The brand's designer, Filip Tysander, visited Japan in October for a press conference in Tokyo. Representatives from each shop and stylists appeared in pairs on a stage projected with a large watch face. A talk session was held, where representatives shared their passion for the brand, their expectations for the future, and their respective shop styling suggestions. "With the rise of smartphones, people have become less interested in watches, but Daniel Wellington has reinvented watch culture," said Hiroshi Doichi of Beams. Having worked with the brand since its inception, he recalled witnessing its widespread popularity. The brand's first collaboration features its signature pure white watch face, a clean design without a second hand, and a matte black case, a first for the brand. The watch also comes with two interchangeable straps—black leather and nylon—that can be worn for different occasions. The nylon straps are color-coded to match each store's concept: "Navy and White" for Barneys New York, "Navy and Blue" for Beams, and "Navy and Red" for United Arrows, creating a casual design. Each strap is priced at ¥27,000. Designer Filip Tysander, who visited Japan from Sweden, expressed his excitement, saying, "This is the brand's first custom-made project in the world. I'm thrilled to be working with such a great Japanese shop." The reception party following the presentation was attended by many celebrities, including models Rola and Jessica Michibata, music creator Kenichi Maeyamada (Hyadain), and stylist Takashi Kumagai. The dance performance unit "WORLD ORDER," led by Genki Sudo, also performed a dance performance wearing the brand's watches and trademark suits, creating a glamorous atmosphere.
