A Christmas world filled with girls' dreams. Sophie et Chocolat's first solo exhibition in a year will be held in Daikanyama

Nov 10, 2015

Gallery SPEAK FOR in Daikanyama will host a solo exhibition by the artist duo Sophie et Chocolat, titled "Sparkle Days." The exhibition runs from November 27th to December 9th. Founded in 2010 by Kyoko Hatanaka and Chieko Onodera, former designers of the Daikanyama shop Curly Collection, Sophie et Chocolat continues to create artistically-inspired miscellaneous goods and fashion items under the theme of "French Girls Vintage." Their bejeweled pieces, featuring a mix of pastel colors and polka dots, as well as plenty of glittering materials, have attracted many female fans. This exhibition, the duo's first in about a year, aims to "express the sparkling feelings of a girl before Christmas," showcasing original artwork and new items based on the theme of "shopping around cake shops, clothing stores, florists, and other stores and the encounters they encounter there." The exhibition will showcase recommended items that can be used as gifts.

In addition, approximately 40 new canvas paintings, drawings, collage works, photographs, and more will be exhibited and sold. In addition to new items and standard products such as one-of-a-kind pouches, sweatshirts, socks, stoles, and candles that are popular every year, the exhibition will also feature a number of collaborative works with popular illustrators.
